Net Framework is a free application that is now included in the Core Windows package.
Introduced in the late 90’s as a means of standardizing application development in various versions of Windows, it is the core of a number of key Windows features.
Unfortunately, the NET Framework has caused a large number of errors / problems over the years.
While it does not usually cause problems on its own, it is often the result of poor integration or similar outcomes.
If you are recommended to “reinstall” or “repair” NET, then the following tutorial should help.
Note – .NET cannot be removed.
Because it is an integral part of the Windows ecosystem, it is virtually impossible to “remove” the .NET Framework from later versions of the system.
While you may have the freedom to update, repair, and manage them – removing them doesn’t work.
That way, if you run into trouble, you need to make sure you have the latest version and that it is running properly on your system.
To do this, you need to follow these steps:
1. Run the verification tool
- The first step is to run Microsoft’s NetNet Verification tool.
- This is a free piece of software that basically checks for any issues that may arise with the NET.
- You can download it by searching the “.NET Verification Tool” online and clicking on the first link (this should be Microsoft’s web page).
- After downloading the tool, run it.
- If you do not know which version of your network is running, just select. Net version 4.
- It should be a * matter * to verify the framework (it really checks if the correct files are on the system).
- If there is a problem, it will provide you with an error code that you must check online … otherwise, continue below.
2. Run the NET repair tool
- After performing step 1, you will need to “repair” any of the issues in the NET.
- To do this, you must run a network repair tool.
- This is another tool developed by Microsoft, and basically allows you to clear Windows of any problems with its net installation.
- Like the verification tool above, you can find it by clicking on your favorite search engine and searching for “.NET Repair Tool”.
- Click on the first Microsoft link – it should show the page with the big orange button.
- Once the button is clicked, download the application to your system and run it.
- Follow the on-screen steps and restart your PC once completed.
3. Upgrade.net
If the above does not work, you can try updating the framework.
- It basically overrides any files that may cause problems anyway, allowing you to clear any errors in it.
To do this, you will need to do the following:
- Search online for “.NET Latest Downloads”
- You should submit a Microsoft web page
- This page will have two options. “.NET Core” & “.NET Framework”
- Click “Download.NET Framework Runtime” under the NET Framework option
- Save the file to your computer
- Open it and run
- This will tell you if you have the latest version, or if you have a hint to proceed
- If it works then, follow these steps & Restart Your PC.
4. Reinstall. Net in “Windows Features”
Finally, you may be able to remove the feature from Windows Features.
To do this, you need to follow these steps:
- Hit the “Windows” + “S” keys From Keyboard
- Type “programs and features”
- Select the first option (in Windows 10, there may be an option for “Turn Windows features on or off” – which you should click)
- Find “Enable or Disable Windows Features” from the menu at the left & click on it.
- From the list, identify “.NET 4.7”
- Uncheck the box
- Click “OK”
- Restart your system
- Open the applet again, and check the box this time
- Windows wants to perform some installation.
- Once completed, restart your system
- Test it to make it work

If you’re still having problems following the above, you need to make sure that any application running on your system is running properly. This can usually be achieved by reinstalling them.
