to combat this condition . Experts unanimously agree that these two drinks are very useful on such days. But which is more beneficial between ORS and salt-sugar water? This is being debated. And in the interest of resolving this dispute, we contacted Meenakshi Majumdar, the chief nutritionist of the Institute of Neuroscience, Kolkata. He is the one who gave us an idea about the whole thing.
1. ORS Dhanvantari

Since its discovery, ORS has saved the lives of millions of patients. According to Meenakshi Majumdar, ORS restores water balance in the body. Even compensates for sodium-potassium deficiency. This makes the body stronger. Apart from dehydration, ORS is also very effective in problems like vomiting and diarrhea. In this case, mix 1 packet of ORS in 1 liter of water. Then keep drinking that water little by little throughout the day. This will relieve the heat.
2. There is no salt-sugar water pairing for a quick fix

It is not always possible to have ORS at hand. Then you can drink salt-sugar water to handle the situation. In this case, 6 teaspoons of sugar and half a teaspoon of salt should be mixed in 1 liter of water. Mix each of these ingredients well. Then you can eat little by little throughout the day. It also benefits the body. Meenakshi Majumder said that problems like vomiting, diarrhea and dehydration have reduced. So there is no use in harboring negative ideas about salt-sugar water.
3. ORS or salt-sugar water, which is more beneficial?

According to Meenakshi Majumdar, ORS has all the necessary ingredients in just the right amount. In this case, this formula has come forward through multiple studies. So there is no doubt that playing ORS will bring more benefits. But salt-sugar water is not bad either. If you don't have ORS at hand, you can drink salt-sugar water. However, it is very important to follow the correct procedure while making salt-sugar water. Otherwise, there will be no benefit.
4. Eat with caution if you have a metabolic disorder

Patients suffering from metabolic disorders like diabetes and high blood pressure are now at home. They must be suffering a lot in summer. However, if you have diabetes or high blood pressure, you should not consume ORS or salt-sugar water without consulting a doctor. In fact, all these drinks contain salt and sugar. Due to this, there is a risk of increasing sugar and blood pressure. Besides, even if you have kidney disease, you have to eat in moderation. So they too take expert advice before consuming ORS.
5. 3 to 4 liters of water a day is must

Just eating ORS or salt-sugar water will do nothing. Rather, you must drink at least 3 to 4 liters of water a day in this summer. Must keep a water bottle with you while going out. But don't forget to drink canned water and fruit juice along with drinking water. But it is better not to drink the juice of thorn fruit on the side of the road. It can spread infection.
