Belgium is a small country in the northwest of Europe. It is one of the smallest and most densely populated countries in Europe. This country is a constitutional monarchy. Belgium gained independence from the Netherlands in 1830.
Belgium is a founding member of the European Union and the headquarters of many of Europe's major corporations are located here. Brussels is the capital and largest city of Belgium. The headquarters of the European Union, the European Parliament, NATO and the World Customs Organization are located in Brussels. We can say that Belgium is the main center of Europe. Many refer to Belgium as the capital of Europe.
Belgium looks very beautiful and attractive from the sky. Everyone will be mesmerized by the lush greenery and the beautiful scenery all around. After the plane landed, as soon as I stepped outside, my body was instantly chilled by the cold air. The temperature outside is 6 degrees. I ran a bit and went inside the airport. Arrived at Brussels airport at around 4:15 pm Belgium time. Roni Mohammad, Roni Hossain, Russell Ahmed, Aziz and Mukta Bhabhi were the tour companions for this trip. Rasel Bhai's only son Rahim Ahmed was there to keep us busy all the time.
After reaching the airport, I put on my winter clothes from the bag. Waiting for us outside with a car is our beloved Farooq Ahmed Molla Bhai, a Belgian expatriate. Looking outside from inside the airport. The sky is so solemn. Drizzling rain, cloudy sky. It's getting dark all around in moments. I asked my brother Roni Mohammad why is it so dark? He said with a smile that the night has come and it will be dark. It was not left to understand at that time that the evening falls here at around 4:30. Farooq Molla Bhai reached us within a short time. After exchanging pleasantries, we left for the hotel.
Farooq bhai has already arranged a hotel for us. I went directly from the hotel to Farooq Bhai's house, thinking that Bahari is waiting for us with local food. I did not fail to thank my wife for preparing such a beautiful meal at home. It was almost 11 pm at Farooq Bhai's house while having food and discussion. According to everyone's decision, we all went to the hotel at night. Of course, I have fixed the schedule at night where and how I will visit.
As far as I know, some cities in Belgium are quite famous. Among them are the capital Brussels, Interpen, Bruges, Ghent, Liege, the Bengali-dominated area of Porte de Namore and Mons. Every city looks different because of planned urbanization. Tourists mainly like to visit all cities. All cities are easily accessible by train from Brussels. When you visit Belgium you will meet people from almost every European country. The people of this country speak French. Also speak German or Dutch. So communication may be a bit of a problem, but in big cities everyone can speak more or less English.
This is my first visit to Belgium. I woke up in the morning and saw that Roni Mohammad bhai and Russell bhai had gone out early in the morning for urgent work. Roni bhai has already asked Rubel bhai to take me to different places. So I and Rubel Bhai went out to see the city. Train travel in Brussels is cheap and easy so picked up a ticket for 8 euros for the whole day. With this ticket you can travel all day by bus, train and metro.
Cloudy sky all day without seeing the sun. The rain is slowly increasing and in some time the evening is approaching. Every moment of human life is being recorded in memory book. I enjoyed such a beautiful day after a long time. Interestingly, there is an open market in this city on holidays. People have a lot of fun shopping and eating food. Much like the fair of our country. Everything is available from vegetables. When visiting Belgium, you should not forget to visit Bruges and Interpen City. As in Bruges you will find many canals that run through the houses and on the other hand one of the most famous railway stations in Europe is the Interpen.
Samad, a Bangladeshi living in Belgium, said that Interpen City is famous for diamonds. There are rows of diamond shops. However, caution should be exercised when buying diamonds. Because there are stones that look like diamonds. In fact, they are made of stone, so it is better not to buy them without a known person. Belgians love to ride bicycles. You can rent a bicycle and return again. About five thousand expatriate Bangladeshis are living in Belgium. Since each person lives in a different city, they rarely see each other. It can be said that it is not seen without any special arrangement. However, there are several business establishments of Bangladeshis in the Porte de Namore area. If you go around there, you can meet one or two Bangladeshis. So no Bangladeshi should go to Porte de Namore when visiting Belgium.
Gradually the effect of winter is increasing. So it is better not to stay outside for a long time. Dinner should be done. When it comes to food in Belgium, you really have to talk about French fries. When you hear about french fries or potatoes, you might think that it is from France, but French fries are not invented by Belgium. And Belgians are proud of it. You can find a fries everywhere in Belgium. You can eat when you are hungry. So I finished the dinner with tandoori roti with grill kebab and french fries.
Although Belgium is a small country, it is a very big country in terms of diversity and beauty. A very beautiful country to see in a short time. A lot of things were seen in this trip of only 3 days. However, I was impressed by the sincerity of our beloved Farooq Ahmed Mollah bhai. Finally, after overcoming the illusion of Belgium, we all left together for Portugal, another country in Europe.
